SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of extracting rare-earth elements and removing thorium from monazite- or bast-based-containing ores and ore and industrial wastes containing a variable amount of rare-earth elements in form of oxides, phosphates, carbonates or sulphates, including (i) controlled mixing of sulfuric acid and material containing rare-earth elements. Then water is leached under controlled conditions.
EFFECT: technical result is selective extraction of components from feedstock.
