FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of processing oxidized nickel ores. Method involves sulphatizing roasting with the use of sulphuric acid to produce sulphate ash. Then leaching of the sulphate ash, separating the insoluble residue from the solution and neutralizing of the solution are performed. Leaching of the ore sulphate ash is carried out in a solution of sulphuric acid. Obtained sulphate solution is neutralized with aqueous ammonia in two stages to the medium pH of 3.0-3.5 and 7.5-8.0 with separation of iron- and nickel-containing hydrate deposits. Mother solution is evaporated and salt crystals are extracted. Salts are dried and annealed at the temperature of 500-600 °C to produce magnesium sulphate.
EFFECT: technical result is high efficiency of processing oxidized nickel ores due to additional extraction of magnesium contained in the ores into the commercial product.
