Method of video data encoding comprises: determining internal prediction modes, including a planar mode, when the internal prediction mode of the left unit is equal to the internal prediction mode of the upper unit and the internal prediction mode of the left unit is a DC mode, determining versions of internal prediction modes, including an internal prediction mode corresponding to an index which is less than the index of the internal prediction mode of the left unit by 1, or an internal prediction mode corresponding to an index which is greater than the index of the internal prediction mode of the left unit by 1, when the internal prediction mode of the left unit is equal to the upper prediction mode of the upper unit and the internal prediction mode of the left unit is a directional mode, determining a mode index indicating an internal prediction mode of the current unit and generating a bit stream which includes a mode index.

EFFECT: high efficiency of video encoding/decoding.
