FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.

SUBSTANCE: use: for subsurface location. Summary of invention consists in the fact that recovery of radio holograms of subsurface objects located in media with uneven surface includes step change of signal in specified frequency range with uniform pitch in range fmin=kmin(c/D); fmax=kmax(c/D), where kmin=0.72; kmax=0.81; D is antenna diameter; c is speed of light, number of separate frequencies in range from fmin up to fmax not less than five, automatic equalization of amplitude-frequency characteristic, wherein creating a digital map of the terrain of the uneven surface of the medium using the depth sensor, which enables to measure the distance corresponding to each pixel of the depth of the optical image received by the sensor, surface radio-hologram is calculated using the obtained relief of the uneven surface of the medium; a difference radio hologram is calculated (the difference between the experimental and calculated radio holograms), and the radio image of the subsurface object is calculated from the difference radio hologram by back propagation.

EFFECT: possibility of compensating reflection from the surface and obtaining detailed radio images of subsurface objects.
