FIELD: engine building.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is an internal combustion engine (ICE) display (40) including a variable compression ratio mechanism configured to vary the ICE compression ratio. Display (40) comprises indicator section (41) configured to change its indication depending on ICE compression degree. Section of indicator (41) is made capable to keep the indication constant or within the small change relative to the change in the ICE compression degree in each of the first and second dead zones of the ICE compression degree. First dead zone includes the vicinity of the upper limit of the ICE compression degree, including the upper limit, the second dead zone includes the neighborhood of the lower limit of the ICE compression degree, including the lower limit.

EFFECT: indication is changed depending on ICE compression degree, displaying information on fuel saving on the display.
