SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making briquettes from carbon-containing starting material from wastes containing carbon sources. Method of producing carbon-containing feedstock from a carbon source containing wastes involves the following steps: (i) introducing a biochar source produced by liquefaction with particle size smaller than 212 mcm into a dump coal fines source with particle size smaller than 212 mcm to obtain a biogenic coal mixture; (ii) adding a gasification catalyst additive selected from a group consisting of an alkali metal source or an alkali-earth metal source into a biogenic coal mixture; (iii) optionally, contacting the biohazel mixture with the binder and (iv) compacting the mixture obtained in step (ii) or (iii) to form one or more briquettes of the carbonaceous feedstock, said briquettes having a size of at least 5 mm.

EFFECT: technical result is the use of carbon wastes during production of briquettes, which provides good retention of sulphur during combustion, high reaction rate during gasification.
