FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cryogenic and oil and gas equipment, in particular to production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and can be used in design of apparatus for cooling and liquefaction of natural gas with simultaneous jetting of dropping liquid of evaporated coolant during LNG production. Device for gas cooling comprises cylindrical housing 1 with inputs and outputs for coolant and cooled gas. Housing 1 accommodates heat exchange section including cylindrical casing 2 and at least one bundle of heat-exchange tubes 4 spirally wound on central tube 3. In a preferable version of the invention, the heat exchange section comprises two bundles 5 and 6 of heat exchange tubes 4 for different gas flows. Above heat exchange section there is a separation section for separation of vapor and liquid phases of cooling agent, including separation devices 12, 15, 17 and 13. In housing 1 there is also at least one overflow device 20 configured to discharge liquid coolant from separation section to bottom part of heat exchange section casing 2.
EFFECT: invention allows cooling of gas or gases and separation of drop liquid from coolant vapors in one device.
