FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at storage of samples of DNA-containing plant material. Method of storing DNA-containing plant material involves preparation of plant material homogenate using a buffer solution based on 75 mcl of a buffer solution per 10 mg of tissue. Homogenate is applied on paper carrier impregnated with the same buffer solution and dried at room temperature. Buffer solution consists of 0.5–4 % of N-laurylsarcosine, 5–20 mM of EDTA, 30–200 mM of Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane and water - the rest.
EFFECT: disclosed method of storing DNA-containing plant material enables to preserve DNA for a long time, does not require special storage conditions, can be used to create DNA-banks of plants.
