FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry of pigments, particularly to production of versions of pigments based on compounds – substituted dithiolene complexes of nickel with asymmetric ligands. Method of producing pigment for protective elements of multilayer articles based on substituted dithiolene complexes of nickel with asymmetric ligands involves producing 1-R2-3-R1-thiocarbamide, where R1 – aryl, and R2 – alkyl C1-C18, cycloalkyl, allyl, propargyl, aralkyl, aryl, where R1 is not equal to R2. Then it is reacted with oxalyl chloride to form 1-R2-3-R1-2-thioxoimidazolidine-4,5-dione, is reacted with metallic nickel in the presence of Lawesson's reagent and the desired product is obtained.

EFFECT: obtaining a pigment for protective elements of multilayer articles, having high light resistance and good resistance to external environment and aggressive media.
