FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fine cellulose fiber which can be used in a variety of composite materials and coating agents, and can also be used to form a sheet or film. Method of producing fine cellulose fibers involves impregnating cellulose with a fibrillating solution containing a polar aprotic solvent and a vinyl ester of a carboxylic acid or an aldehyde for fibrillation of cellulose. Polar aprotic solvent has a donor number of 26 or more. Content of vinyl ester of carboxylic acid or aldehyde is 0.05–50 wt% relative to total amount of fibrillating solution.
EFFECT: providing an energy-saving method of producing fine cellulose fibers which are nanosized, have a high degree of crystallinity and are less vulnerable to damage to the shape of the fibers.
