FIELD: cellulose production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cellulose nanomaterial made or obtained from tobacco, as well as to a method for producing such a material. The method for producing nanocellulose material obtained from tobacco includes obtaining tobacco fibrous mass in a diluted form, so that the specified tobacco fibrous mass is a suspension of tobacco fibrous mass with a consistency of less than about 5%; and mechanical fibrillation of the suspension of tobacco fibrous mass to obtain nanocellulose material obtained from tobacco, at least one average particle size of which ranges from 1 nm to 100 nm.
EFFECT: cellulose nanomaterials obtained from tobacco can be used in various industrial fields, such as fields related to film formation and technologies for thickening solutions.
