METHOD OF PRODUCING BACTERIAL CELLULOSE NANOFIBERS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC C08B1/02 C08B15/02 C08J3/75 D01F2/02

Abstract RU 2708307 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemistry of high-molecular compounds. Method of producing bacterial cellulose nanofibers consists in the fact that bacterial cellulose is ground to particle size of 0.5–1 mm, placed in pre-prepared ionic liquid – deep eutectic solvent GER (mixture of water-soluble components from: urea and choline chloride or carboxylic acid and choline chloride) for separation of coalesced fibers and splitting microfibrils of bacterial cellulose into separate nanofibers, wherein mass fraction of cellulose in mixture is 1–2 %, mixture is held for 30–90 minutes at temperature 80–110 °C. Obtained viscous mass is diluted with ethyl alcohol in ratio of 30 ml of alcohol to 20 ml of the mixture, then subjected to centrifugation for 30–60 minutes at rate of 4,000–6,000 rpm, the mass of nanofibers of cellulose separated from the liquid layer is redispersed in water for 30 min while stirring. Centrifuging and redispersion of separated cellulose nanofibers are repeated at least 3 times to remove GER and alcohol residues, as a result, an end product is obtained in form of a white gel consisting of bacterial cellulose with diameter of 50–200 nm dispersed in water of separate non-splitting nanofibers.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method of producing bacterial cellulose nanofibers.
