SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a base material for making a wall or floor panel, a floor panel having similar base material, as well as a method of making a decorated wall or floor panel. Base material for making base (36) for decorated wall or floor panel, wherein base material (20) has a polymer-containing matrix material and a solid filler material, wherein the solid filler material is formed from talc comprising at least 50 wt%, in particular at least 80 wt%, in particular at least 95 wt%, based on the solid filler material, wherein the matrix material is present in an amount based on the base material from ≥30 wt% to ≤70 wt%, in particular from ≥40 wt% to ≤60 wt%, and wherein the solid filler material, based on the base material, is present in an amount relative to the base material of ≥30 wt% to ≤70 wt%, in particular from ≥40 wt% to ≤60 wt%, and wherein base material (20) and solid filler material together in amount of base material (20) are present in amount of ≥95 wt%, in particular ≤99 wt%, wherein the matrix material contains polypropylene, wherein the polypropylene contains a mixture of a homopolymer and a copolymer and wherein the melt flow rate of the homopolymer is greater than the melt flow rate of the copolymer.
EFFECT: creation of improved method for production of decorated wall or floor panels and base material, which makes it possible to produce wall or floor panel with improved moisture resistance, in particular, with reduced swelling caused by moisture and heating.
