FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tooling for plastic injection molding, as well as to large size forged pieces made of low-carbon steel for casting molds, having considerably improved hardening and hardening properties in large cross-sections. Method includes following stages: formation of melt of steel, having not all components of alloy, in heating device; placing said melt in a melting formation reservoir; heating and further alloying components of alloy in accordance with composition and refining said melting by mixing, blowing with argon, magnetic mixing or any other method of mixing; vacuum degassing, metal casting and casting of said melting to form ingots by siphon casting; remelting of said ingots; hot processing of said ingots to form mold blocks and casting matrices having sections with length of 20 inches and more, wherein said blocks of molds and casting matrices have a certain composition; thermal treatment of said mold blocks and casting matrices by quenching and tempering; forming tooling for plastic pressure casting from said blocks subjected to quenching and tempering.
EFFECT: invention provides improved polishing characteristics and other properties of cast parts in tooling sets.
