FIELD: special electrometallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce high-quality ingots from refractory rare earth metals by electron beam remelting for the needs of the nuclear, atomic, oil, and chemical industries. Lump metal material in the form of loose, granular, shaving-like scrap of stainless steel and a fraction of crushed pieces of ferrochrome material, small shavings from refractory elements of nickel, tungsten, vanadium are introduced into the charge composition; the main composition of the semi-finished product is formed in an intermediate container with electron beams. Intermediate degassing, evaporation of volatile components is carried out; at the end, at the melting stage, rhenium is mixed in powder form, sealed, vacuumed without intermediate pumping, liquid metal flows into the crystallizer with filling no more than 2/3 of its height, degassing, formation of an ingot, pulling the ingot out of crystallizer, cooling in vacuum, de-vacuuming and unloading of the ingot.
EFFECT: increased corrosion resistance of steel due to the introduction of rhenium and increased time to corrosion cracking by 80-90% and the service life under load of 12,000 hours due to the use of refractory rare earth metals in the steel composition.
