SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods and systems for analyzing images, specifically to detecting and localizing a central axis of a bone based on an image of a subject obtained by CT. Method for automatic determination of a three-dimensional central axis of a bone of interest in a three-dimensional image comprises obtaining, by a computer processor, a three-dimensional image of one or more bones containing a bone of interest of a mammal, selecting, by a processor, a bone from one or more bones on a three-dimensional image, creating a binary bone mask by the processor, creation of a filled bone mask by the processor, creation of a skeleton by the processor and creation of a cut-off skeleton by the processor to reduce the skeleton to the section corresponding to the three-dimensional central bone axis. Method for automated filling of boundaries on image of object of interest comprises digital representation of image data from binary mask of object in form of cubic data models, determination by the processor of the computing device of the vertex of the cubic model of data from cubic data models, wherein the vertex has all ribs connected to the vertex associated with the true elements of the volumetric image, formation by a processor of a two-dimensional image of three faces connected to the identified vertex of the cubic data model, filling the morphological blanks with the processor on formed 2D image to obtain a filled surface and displaying the filled surface by the processor back on the three faces connected to the identified vertex of the cubic data model. System for automatic identification of a three-dimensional central axis of a bone of interest on a three-dimensional image comprises a processor and memory containing instructions stored therein, wherein instructions when executing by their processor instruct processor to perform method for automatic determination of three-dimensional central axis. A system for automated filling of boundaries on an image of an object of interest comprises a processor and memory containing instructions stored in it, wherein instructions when executing with their processor instruct the processor to perform a method for automatically filling boundaries on an image of an object.
EFFECT: use of the group of inventions allows higher speed, efficiency and automation of measurements and analysis of bones behind the cut.
