FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgical production, particularly to procedure and facility for winding metal band. According to the procedure the band is directed between feed device (3) consisting of at least one upper feed roller (4) and at least one lower feed roller (5) and drum (6) of a reel. The band is wound on drum (6) of the reel into coil (2). When band (1) comes to a specified residual length, bending moment (MB) is applied to it across lengthwise direction and causes plastic deformation of the band. At least one upper feed roller (4) of feed device (3) is transferred in direction (W) of rolling and is lowered perpendicular to band surface (1). Lower feed roller (5) is stationary fixed. Band (1) is held down in direction (W) of rolling before feed device (3) by means of hold down roller (17).
EFFECT: preventing unwinding of band wound into coil and facilitating tight fit of band end to coil; also decreased assortment of equipment required for operation.
