FIELD: metrology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metrology and is intended for determination of loads (vertical and lateral forces) acting on rolling surface and side face of rail head at its contact interaction with wheel of rolling stock. Summary: installation of strain gauges in four zones of rail neck and their connection to inputs of measuring channels of strain-gage equipment, allowing to register response in measuring channels to increment of input factors, calibration of measuring channels according to certain experimental plan with calculation of calibration coefficients. In grading, rail deflection is also measured to characterize change of rigidity of under-rail base, calibration is performed according to four-factor experiment plan by combination of four factors: vertical force, bending moment, lateral force and rail deflection, and the load components measurement result is determined as the product of the square calibration matrix 4 × 4 to increments of signals in strain-gage channels occurring at contact interaction of rail with wheel.

EFFECT: technical result is elimination of effect on measurement results of vertical and lateral forces of rigidity uncertainty of under-rail base, thereby improving measurement accuracy.
