FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: on the track section strain gage sensors are mounted in pairs on the rail at the middle of the height, symmetrically on both sides of the rail web and are oriented vertically. During the movement of the wheel pair along the measuring section, symmetrical deformations are determined and their frequency filtration is carried out depending on the speed of movement. The wheel number is determined by the number of selection threshold crossings. The local minima of symmetric deformations are recorded, the speed and longitudinal coordinate of the wheel on the rail, the moment of wheel entry into the sensitivity zone of the pair of strain gauge sensors are determined. The vertical force from the wheel to the rail is determined, using filtered symmetrical deformations and standard deformations. When the force exceeds its critical value, the wheel pair is rejected.

EFFECT: increased reliability of the results of controlling the tread surface of the freight wagon wheels in motion for the well-timed detection of defects by reducing the influence of the wheel motion path on the rail tread surface on the parameters of the diagnostic signals.
