FIELD: electricity; power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power engineering and can be used as connecting point clamps when performing work with wires not insulated for overhead transmission lines, as well as with steel cables (ground wires) for protection of overhead power lines from direct lightning strikes. Clamp consists of two dies 1 with two finned chutes 2 in each die bolted together by means of bolt joint 5. In the cutters there are cutouts 3 so that during the assembly of the clamp the wire of the die engages with each other. Radius R of rounding of chute 4 is determined by average diameter of group of fixed wires and provides reliable clamping of both minimum and maximum diameter wires. On the inner side of the surface of the slices, along the entire length, ribbing is made along two chutes, besides, the ribs have triangular shape with rounded tops.
EFFECT: use of a connection die-like clamp of the given design will allow to expand the range of diameters of the used wires, and also it will allow to reduce weight and metal consumption, to ensure reliable connection of wires without their damage.
