FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electric power industry, in particular to the compression midspan joints intended for connecting non-insulated steel-aluminum wires and cables of overhead transmission lines. Clamp consists of body (1) and bushing (2). Body is made of aluminum or aluminum alloy and is made in the form of a tube of round or oval shape with flats and conical part (3) at its ends. Steel cores (4) of the steel-aluminum wire (5) and at least two inserts (6) are lapped into the sleeve in a way overlapping each other. Inserts (6) are steel wires (not less than two) of the same diameter or several (more than two) wires, but of smaller diameter.
EFFECT: proposed compression midspan joint is characterized by low costs in manufacturing and in installation due to a significant reduction in its metal consumption and labor intensity due to a significant decrease in the lengths of the bushing and body when the fluffed wires of the cores of the steel-aluminum wires are joined together.
