SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting engineering and can be used for disinfection of rooms. Devices include a discharge lamp configured to emit ultraviolet light, power circuit designed to actuate the discharge lamp, and a reflecting system configured to change the direction of ultraviolet light emitted by the discharge lamp. In addition, systems are disclosed, which include processor-executable program instructions for receiving data relating to room characteristics, in which one or more disinfection sources are installed, and determining, based on the received data, an individual operating parameter(s) for one or more disinfection sources. Other systems include program executable program instructions for selecting for each of a plurality of disinfection sources a target location, area, object or surface in a room, in which there are sources of disinfection, matching target locations / areas / objects / surfaces and performing corrective action(s) if it is detected that two or more locations / objects / surfaces are spaced apart within a given distance, and / or if two or more regions match.
