FIELD: internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Head of cylinder block (1) of the internal combustion engine contains cooling jacket (2), differently directed stiffeners (9) and fasteners. Flow part of cooling jacket is formed by side outer walls, bottom (5) and wall (6) of oil cavity with gas channels passing through it, wells (8) of spark plugs. Ribs are located between combustion chambers of adjacent cylinders in direction through axes of elements of head attachment to cylinder block. Said ribs are composed of walls. Arrangement of the wall edges from the fastening element enables to direct the greater part of the cooling liquid flow to the heated zones of the combustion chamber and valve seats. Hole located between the wall edges and at the optimum distance from the upper wall of the cooling jacket directs the smaller part of the cooling liquid flow in the centre of the cooling jacket to the candle wells, mainly into their lower heated zone. Lower heated zone of the candle wells is additionally cooled by the flow of cooling liquid supplied through the flow channels located between the outlet channels. Cooling jacket covers the candle wells so that the diameter of the female surface in the thread area under the candle is locally less than in the other zone, thus creating the additional annular cavity (15) of cooling of the smaller radius.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of fuel efficiency and power characteristics of engine.
