CYLINDER HEAD OF LIQUID-COOLED DIESEL ENGINE Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC F02F1/36 

FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed cylinder head has space for cooling liquid formed by side outer walls, bottom and cover of head. Passed through said space are inlet and outlet gas channels, wells for nozzles and flow plugs and wells for bolts fastening head to cylinder block and arranged over perimeter of combustion chamber adjoining side outer walls and provided with ribs pointed inside cooling liquid space. Additional streamlined columns reinforced from two sides by ribs pointed along cylinder head are provided in space of cooling liquid from bottom to cylinder head cover. Additional ribs pointed to center of combustion chamber adjoin side outer wall from side of outlet channels, and additional ribs pointed to outer side wall are made from bottom of cylinder head to wells for glow plugs. Cavities for throttling cooling liquid flow are made in bottom of cylinder head under inlet and outlet channels. Longitudinal variable-section stiffening rib is made in upper space on outer surface of cylinder head cover. Said rib connects wells for fuel nozzles, and additional stiffening ribs are provided combining supports for camshafts and wells for fuel nozzles with side outer walls.

EFFECT: provision of uniform distribution of pressure on expansion joint gasket and effective cooling of cylinder head.
