FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the transport equipment, in more detail, to the diesel engine control methods. Disclosed are methods for detecting solid particles by a solid particle sensor located downstream of a diesel engine particulate filter in an exhaust system. In one example, the method can comprise a step of increasing the opening of the solids sensor inlet, when the exhaust gas flow rate falls below the threshold one, for passage of a larger amount of solid particles into the solid particles sensor, and additionally can contain a step, on which opening of the inlet opening is reduced, when the exhaust gas flow rate exceeds the threshold value, to let smaller amount of solid particles pass into the sensor.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of controlling amount of solid particles supplied to sensor, depending on exhaust gas flow rate, maintaining at required level of intensity of deposition of particles in sensor and, as a result, preservation of sensor sensitivity and elimination of its dependence on exhaust gas flow rate.
