FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: solid particles sensor is located downstream relative to diesel filter of solid particles in exhaust system. Method comprises rotation of the SP sensor assembly inside the outlet pipe to generate a signal, wherein said turn is based on exhaust gas flow conditions inside outlet branch pipe. By turning the SP sensor assembly using a bearing, the rate of accumulation of solids of soot on the sensor element in the SP sensor assembly can be maintained at the required level irrespective of the direction of movement of the exhaust gas flow inside the outlet nozzle.

EFFECT: method of measuring amount of solid particles in exhaust gases is disclosed.
