SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in automotive internal combustion engines. Engine outlet system comprises outlet branch pipe (48) with solid particle sensor (162), particulate filter and controller (12). Solid particle sensor (162) comprises inner and outer hollow cylindrical tubes (240) and (250) with annular space (270) formed between them. Solid particle sensor (162) also comprises sensor substrate (216) located in annular space (270). Sensor substrate (216) has a first surface comprising a pair of interdigital electrodes (220) facing a set of holes (268) formed on outer surface of inner tube (240). Controller (12) has long-term machine-readable instructions. Controller (12) detects connections of a pair of interdigital electrodes (220). Controller includes regeneration of sensor substrate (216) as a response to connection of a pair of interdigital electrodes (220). Controller (12) informs on degradation of solid particle filter located in outlet branch pipe (48) upstream relative to solid particles sensor (162) when time interval between next regenerations is less than threshold time interval.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of solid particles filter state determination.
