FIELD: waste processing and disposal.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recycling and reuse of production wastes and domestic wastes, particularly glass and ceramics scrap, and can be used in making facing construction tiles, mainly mosaic tiles, majolica and smalt. Method of making articles from glass wastes involves mechanical grinding of said wastes, preparation of press powder or casting slip, molding workpieces by compacting powder in mold or by casting slip, heat treatment and cooling of workpieces. Technical result is achieved due to fact that in powdered composition includes glass wastes 97–98 pts. wt, and as additive in pts. wt. complex sintering activator is added to the powder weight. Sintering activator is a boron-containing compound B2O3 and antimony trioxide. Share of antimony trihoxide Sb2O3 in the sintering activator is 10–50 pts. wt. Thermal treatment of workpieces is carried out within the temperature range of 700–850 °C, depending on composition of glass, crystallization and obtaining a glossy surface during cooling.
EFFECT: reduced specific power consumption during firing of workpieces owing to lower temperature of firing thermal treatment.
