FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of quartz ceramics with lower annealing temperature to be used for commercial production of various ceramic articles. Proposed method comprises making the quartz glass water ceramic slurry, adding oxygen-free boron-bearing powder activators of sintering in amount of 0.3-0.5 wt %, mixing in ball mill, slurry casting of articles, drying and annealing in air. Annealing is performed at two steps. First, articles are heated to 800-1000°C and held for 1-3 h for heating the entire article and oxidation of boron-bearing additive. Then, temperature is increased to 1150-1200°C and held for 1-3 h for sintering to preset porosity.

EFFECT: lower annealing temperature allows the use of abundant stock.
