FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to natural gas processing by adsorption, namely, to deep drying and cleaning, and can be used in gas and petrochemical industry. Natural gas is adsorbed in an adsorber containing a protective layer of silica gel and a main adsorbing layer of silica gel. Protective layer uses water-resistant silica gel with specific surface area of at least 550 m2/g and containing Al2O3 not more than 5 wt%, obtained by a method involving mixing a solution of liquid glass with a solution of aluminum sulphate in the presence of dispersed silica in amount of 5–30 wt% of the obtained water-insoluble silica gel, formed as a result of mixing sol solutions are molded into silica gel balls by way of drop sol feed into mineral oil, and molded balls are held in circulating flow of sodium sulphate solution, after which they are successively washed first with sulfuric acid solution, then with water, drying, tempering. After saturation with adsorbed components, silica gel is regenerated by hot gas.
EFFECT: technical result achieved by invention consists in deep drying and cleaning of natural gas with insignificant growth of pressure drop in adsorber.
