FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes mixing a solution of liquid glass with an equivalent concentration of sodium oxide of 1.48-1.82 mol/dm3 with a solution of aluminium sulphate with an equivalent concentration of aluminium oxide of 0.25-0.45 mol/dm3. The resulting sol with a pH of 6.4-6.9 is moulded into beads by dropwise feeding sol into mineral oil. The moulded silica gel beads are kept for not more than 16 hours in a circulating flow of the sodium sulfate solution. Then, a serial washing of the moulded product with a solution of sulfuric acid and water is carried out. Silica gel is impregnated with an aqueous solution of a nonionic surfactant with a concentration of 0.01-2.0 wt % containing a polyoxyethylene group. The silica gel is dried and calcined.
EFFECT: invention provides a silica gel which, along with a large specific surface, has high adsorption properties and resistance to droplet moisture, a reduction in the cracking of the desired product.
