FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing silica gel. Method involves mixing a solution of liquid glass with a solution of aluminum sulphate with an equivalent concentration of aluminum oxide 0.25–1.15 mol/dm3 in the presence of dispersed silica, selected from: KSMG, ASMK, MSKG, aerosil, white soot, in amount of 5–30 wt% of the obtained water-insoluble silica gel, but not limited to them, formed as a result of mixing sol solutions are molded into silica gel balls by way of dropwise supply of sol into mineral oil, and molded balls are held in circulating flow of sodium sulphate solution, after which they are successively washed first with sulfuric acid solution, then with water, drying, tempering. Obtained silica gel has specific surface area of not less than 550 m2/g, moisture resistance of not less than 95 % and contains Al2O3 not more than 5 wt%.
EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining silica gel with high resistance to droplet moisture and high specific surface area.
