FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computing devices. Such a result is achieved by analyzing short-term contacts which occur on the touch surface at approximately the same moment in time as the input from the input tool for determining the hand that the user uses to hold the input tool. Inactive area may be set for a touch surface based on hand determination and/or contextual information relating to the user.
EFFECT: technical result consists in detecting preferential use of one hand by user based on input by touch and for suppression of unintentional input by touch.
