FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of lighting device by means of control device. Result is achieved by that lighting system (100) comprises lighting device (110) and control device (102), comprising first user interface (104) configured to receive a first user data input, wherein the first user data input is associated with the adjustment of lighting device (110) control parameter. Lighting system (100) additionally comprises proximity detector (106) configured to detect proximity (114) between control device (102) and lighting device (110). Processor (108) is configured to adjust the control parameter of lighting device (110) based on the first user data input, if control device (102) is within predetermined proximity (114) from lighting device (110) within a given period of time after receiving the first user input data. This enables the user to control lighting device (110) by providing proximity (114) between control device (102) and a lighting device, which provides a simple and intuitive method of controlling one or more lighting devices (110).

EFFECT: technical result is to provide user with no need to indicate target lighting device to be controlled on control device.
