FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of iron-containing wastes for metallurgical processing and can be used for briquetting of scale. When briquetting iron-containing wastes in the form of scale, one performs mixing of scale with carbon-containing additives taken in mass ratio of 1:(0.1–0.30) respectively, the mixture is homogenised by grinding until the specific surface area is not less than 3,000 cm2/g. Homogenised mixture is successively mixed with slag-forming additives taken in amount of 5–15 % of the weight of the homogenised mixture, a fluxing agent which is represented by silicofluoride-hydrogen acid and a binder in form of liquid glass taken in amount of 5–7.5 % of the weight of the homogenised mixture with slag-forming agents. Slag-forming additives are slag of out-of-furnace treatment of steel, fluxing agent is introduced in amount of 50 % of weight of liquid glass, and produced mixture is produced at pressure of 50–300 MPa.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain briquettes with high physical and mechanical properties and high degree of metallization without thermal hardening.
