FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing coatings and can be used in various branches of machine building when making or restoring parts for imparting improved mechanical characteristics to the surface. Method of coating on steel substrate includes preliminary heating of compressed air to temperature of 430–470 °C, its supply to supersonic nozzle for formation of high-speed air flow, in which mechanical mixture of powders of copper, zinc and aluminum oxide is introduced at their ratio by weight of Cu:Zn:Al2O3 = 35 % : 35 % : 30 %, and powder mixture is applied on steel substrate. Coating is deposited in layers with offset of next layer relative to previous one by 2.5–3.5 mm with coefficient of overlapping area of adjacent layers equal to 50–55 %, after which formed coating on steel substrate is subjected to volumetric heat treatment at temperature of 405–415 °C for 60–180 minutes.
EFFECT: higher cohesion strength of coating.
