FIELD: soil or rock drilling; mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to downhole telemetry and can be used for transmitting information over a hydraulic communication channel. In particular, a hydropulse well telemetry device is proposed, comprising: a housing having a channel; engine; and valve connected to engine and located inside channel. Valve comprises a plurality of blades, each blade being formed by a front flat surface, a rear flat surface, a generally curved top surface located between the front flat surface and the rear flat surface, and a pair of opposed side surfaces located between the front flat surface and the rear flat surface. At least one of said plurality of blades has a cavity therein between a front flat surface, a rear flat surface, an upper surface of a generally curved shape and a pair of opposed side surfaces. Besides, said channel provides fluid passage to the valve as the hydraulic pulse telemetry downhole device advances, and the engine is configured to modulate the valve, causing it to selectively block or pass the liquid flow and thereby generate one or more pressure pulses.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of radial hydraulic torque and axial hydraulic load on valve due to reduction of contact area of valve blade with drilling fluid.
