FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of navigation and can be used to increase accuracy of locating movable objects moving along loxodromic trajectories. Method of movable objects positioning consists in the fact that before movable object movement (OM) based on cartographic information known path of motion OM is divided into sections, which are approximated with given accuracy by loxodromic segments, on which there is a functional relationship between geocentric coordinates, allowing to express two coordinates through a third. During movement OM along the loxodromic trajectory the current geocentric coordinates measured by the navigation system OM are projected onto true loxodromic trajectory of motion OM. Coordinates of the projection point are determined taking into account the connection between geocentric coordinates on the loxodrome and calculating, for one of coordinates, at each time instant of measurements of nonlinear time recursion, obtained as a result of linearization of nonlinear transcendental equation, obtained from condition of minimum length of orthodromic segment between point with measured coordinates OM and point of projection on true loxodromic trajectory of its movement, coordinates of which are taken as true current geocentric coordinates OM.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining current coordinates (positioning) of movable objects moving along loxodromic trajectories.
