SUBSTANCE: disclosed group of inventions relates to screening and can be used in mining industry and in bulk materials production. Screen for mining industry or enterprises for production of loose materials contains at least one sieve surface, having support structure, plurality of spaced apart clamping plates made at least partially from the elastically deformable elastomer material and attached to the support structure, a plurality of elastically deformable sieve panels attached to the clamping bars, a plurality of protective planks of the surface located between the clamping bars and the support structure. Protective planks of the surface comprise an elongated body having a substantially flat lower engagement surface of the supporting structure and, in fact, a convex upper engagement surface of the clamping plates. Protective planks of the surface further comprise a flange at each end of the elongated body. Method of modifying the screen includes steps of installing a plurality of spaced-apart clamping bars on the support structure, fastening a plurality of elastically deformable sieve panels to the clamping bars, a plurality of protective planks of the surface are pre-positioned on a support structure and a plurality of spaced apart clamping bars are arranged on said protective planks.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in sizing efficiency, as well as reduced sifting of sieve surfaces.
