FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to embodiment of a vehicle having a side window system in which an ice chipping strategy can be implemented. Vehicle has at least one ambient environment sensor, and the control unit receives and analyses the sensor information from one or more ambient environment sensors to determine when a pre-empting ice breaking procedure should be implemented. Ice breaking strategy is also capable of tracking one or more components of the side window system of the vehicle to determine when the ice chipping procedure should be stopped.
EFFECT: comfortable removal of ice from side windows without exit of users from vehicle.
