SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for assessing ambient humidity. Method for a road vehicle engine having wheels comprises steps of: during first state, when difference between first temperature of first sensor located on outer surface of vehicle and exposed to weather conditions, and the second temperature of the second sensor, which is weather-protected, is greater than the threshold temperature, assessing the first moisture based on the second temperature and the first temperature and adjusting the operation of the engine based on the first moisture content; and during the second state, when the difference between the first temperature and the second temperature is less than the threshold temperature, assessing the second moisture based on the second temperature, and not based on first temperature, and adjusting engine operation based on second moisture content.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of adjustment of engine operating parameters.
