FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to vehicle illumination systems. Illumination device has one light source, a photoluminescent part on the outer surface of the door panel and a controller. Light source is located in the part of the side mirror assembly and is configured to emit excitation radiation with a first wavelength substantially along the side of the vehicle. Excitation radiation is capable of exciting the photoluminescent part to emit output radiation corresponding to the colour of light different from the excitation radiation light. Photoluminescent part is configured to illuminate part of the recess for the vehicle wheel when the door panel is in a substantially open position. Controller is configured to selectively illuminate the door panel in response to the light indication during rotation and in response to the door panel substantially in the open position.
EFFECT: higher quality of common and working illumination.
