FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing powder coating compositions. Described is a method of producing a powder coating composition, involving: a) mixing, in aqueous medium (i) a polymer with carboxylic acid functional groups, having a glass transition temperature of at least 50 °C, with (ii) polycarbodiimide, containing urethane and/or urea bonds, with a glass transition temperature of at least 50 °C, wherein the polycarbodiimide is obtained by reacting a polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst to form a polycarbodiimide and elongating the polycarbodiimide by adding a cyclic diol during or after formation of the polycarbodiimide; b) drying mixture (i) and (ii) to obtain solid particles; and c) grinding solid particles to produce powder. Also described is a coating composition and a substrate.
EFFECT: longer fluid turnover time of powder coating composition.
