FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in producing catalysts for treating exhaust gases of engines. Method of producing trap NOx catalyst support material includes obtaining a first suspension containing a homogeneous mixed oxide Mg/Al precursor and drying the first suspension. Method includes calcining a mixed oxide Mg/Al precursor to obtain a calcined mixed oxide of Mg/Al, which is resuspended to obtain a second suspension containing a mixed oxide of Mg/Al. Then, the resuspended calcined mixed oxide Mg/Al is doped with a precursor containing a manganese oxide precursor to obtain a mixed Mg/Al oxide, doped with at least manganese, and drying second suspension. Mg/Al mixed oxide is adsorbed with at least manganese to obtain doped mixed oxide of Mg/Al.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain trapping NOx catalyst support material having high stability against reaction with a barium-based trapping component to form an inactive BaAl2O4.
