FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of tobacco production and is intended for use in hookah. Method of making a smoking composition for hookah containing tobacco leaves, glycerin, flavoring and flavoring additives in form of solutions of liquid components, acceptable for use in food industry, according to which tobacco leaves of different varieties are pre-sorted and undamaged with diseases and pests are selected, central veins are removed from tobacco leaves, then they are washed with water at temperature of 85 °C, the obtained mass is separated from water, and drying is performed, wherein thermal treatment of whole tobacco leaves with removed central vein in solution of liquid components, twisting them into a roll with diameter of 20 to 100 mm, cutting into discs with thickness of 1 to 20 millimeters, followed by additional moisturizing with solutions of flavoring and flavoring additives and packed in a sealed packaging.
EFFECT: shorter time for preparation of hookah due to use of a convenient shape in the form of a disc, longer time of using the product relative to analogues of a chopped tobacco leaf due to increased weight due to multilayer structure of the composition.
