FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used for production of billets with improved mechanical characteristics. Die comprises a band, a puncheon and a matrix with intersecting receiving, intermediate and output channels. Channels feature geometrically identical cross-section. Intermediate channel is made broken and consists of at least three conjugates at one and the same angle less than 90° sections. Axes of receiving and output channels are located parallel to direction of action of deformation force at distance B≥a(k+2), where a is cross-sectional dimension of the channels. Axes of sections of intermediate channel with even number are parallel to axes of receiving and output channels.
EFFECT: increasing intensity of accumulated shear deformation in one pass of the billet and, consequently, increasing strength and plastic properties of the billet.
