SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fuel systems of aircraft. Catalytic inerting system (100) with gas cushion recirculation comprises primary propulsor (102), catalytic reactor (106), heat exchanger (108). Primary propulsor (102) is configured to select potentially flammable gas of gas pad from fuel tank (104) and return it back to fuel tank (104) in a non-flammable state. Catalytic reactor (106) is configured to treat gas of gas pad, and heat exchanger (108) is configured to cool and dry reacted gas gas pad, obtained from catalytic reactor (106). Pipeline network (110) connects different components of system (100) and is configured to transport gas of gas pad between them.
EFFECT: invention reduces the risk of fires or explosions.
