FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipes rolling. Proposed method comprises deformation of tubular billet with mandrel assembly. Mandrel assembly comprises a cylindrical mandrel which is made with possibility of alternate jointing with faces of the rigging assembly. Reducing formation of defects on the inner surface of the pipes and increasing the service life of the mandrel is ensured by the fact that the mandrel is made at the ends with sections with a tapered side surface, the angle of the generatrix of which with the longitudinal axis of the mandrel ranges from 10 to 70 degrees. Deformation of pipe workpieces is carried out to the value of wear of working sections on both sides of mandrel of not less than 25 % of critical value, and then the mandrel is re-sharpened.

EFFECT: method of continuous tube rolling and mandrel unit for its implementation are proposed.
