FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing acetylacetone, which is used as a semi-product for producing pyrimidine, pyridine and five-membered heterocyclic compounds, and is also widely used in analytical chemistry. Acetylacetone is obtained via Claisen reaction by condensation of acetone with butyl acetate in the presence of sodium butylate in form of 30 wt% suspension in an inert solvent nefras C-4 in molar ratio sodium butylate : butyl acetate : acetone, equal to 1:4:1, respectively.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to obtain a high-purity end product with high output.
