FIELD: biotechnology; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology and biochemistry. Disclosed are an aqueous pharmaceutical preparation and a method for topical treatment of a chronic ulcer selected from a varicose ulcer and a diabetic foot ulcer. Preparation contains a therapeutically effective dose of peptide LL-37 with sequence SEQ ID NO: 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients and/or diluents. Said aqueous pharmaceutical preparation contains a thickener which provides viscosity of the preparation in the range of about 1 to about 10 Pa⋅s at room temperature. Dose LL-37 applied locally at 1 cm2 wound surface is from about 1 mcg/cm2 up to about 70 mcg/cm2. Bandage is applied locally on the ulcer after application of the above preparation.
EFFECT: inventions enable to achieve evident significant stimulation and improvement of ulcerous lesion healing using LL-37 in doses less than 80 mcg per 1 cm2 ulcer areas.
